As I sit here reflecting over the last year, I am amazed at how quickly it went, and I am very grateful for all of the new friends and clients I got to know. With each year that passes I look back and see the highs and lows and how I can do things better and be a better person on this journey. So many of the clients that have walked through my office door as a stranger this year, have become very dear friends. It is so important to me to sit and listen to people and to connect. I thank each of you that have come in and shared your life stories with me. I feel honored to walk the healing path with each of you. This year I will be turning fifty years old. As I type that I still can't believe it's true. Like most people, my mind feels much younger than my body. This year, I aim to be the best me that I can be! I want to extend as much kindness and compassion that I extend to others, to myself. See the inner child that just wants to be loved and accepted in everyone you come into contact with and see that child in yourself. Let us all spread as much love, light and peace in the world that we can each and every day. May your 2024 be blessed and may you be a blessing to others.
Love and Healing, Lisa Thank you so much for coming to On the Spot Acupressure in 2023. I value and appreciate each and every one of you. May you be blessed with peace and love in this holiday season.
I wanted to extend a huge Thank you to Karen Brown and all of the ladies that took the time out of their busy lives to say, "YES" to taking care of themselves. The six-hour retreat was designed to help fill our cups and teach how to take care of ourselves trough movement, reflection, Acupressure / Massage and through connecting with each other and nature. The turnout was so amazing that we are planning to do this again. Keep an eye out for more information! Hello friends!! It's been a minute since I've written here. Life has a way of keeping us on our toes, doesn't it? The only constant in life is that things are constantly changing. I have just made a few shifts in my appointment offerings due to school starting. I am now homeschooling my youngest son and need to be home during the day to help as his academic learning coach. I know some of you really enjoy the early morning appointment times. There will be slots in the mornings available on Saturday and Sunday, as well as on school holidays. I know you will understand how important it is for me to focus on my son during this important time in his life. Always feel free to reach out if you need an appointment time that you don't see available in the evening or on the weekend. I appreciate your understanding and your business. Remember to schedule your acupressure session so you can flow into the Fall with ease and grace.
Many Blessings. Lisa I hope you are off to a good start in 2023. I know that this is the time of year that many people recommit to better health and making better choices in regard to diet and exercise. I would also like to add getting regular acupressure to your list of wellness practices. Acupressure is a beautiful modality that helps to remove blocks in the meridians of the body. I liken it to getting your oil changed in your car and getting regular tune-ups to keep it in top shape and on the road for the long haul. Just as you wouldn't get your car's oil changed once and think that it should sustain it for the duration of your ownership, regular acupressure is needed to undo what daily life and stress does to our bodies.
I wish each and every one of you a year filled with joy, peace and many blessings. Stay well, my friends! As the seasonal shift to cooler weather is occurring, I am turning my focus to creating remedies to support our immune systems. I had a lot of onions, so I decided to chop them all up and get most in the freezer for winter cooking and I started a yummy immune boosting remedy. See the recipe below!
One quart jar is needed -one chopped onion -four cloves of garlic -a one inch section of peeled and chopped ginger -the juice of one lemon -the chopped sections of a second lemon -local honey to cover the ingredients Add the above ingredients to your quart jar and stir it together. Let it sit out on your counter overnight. You will notice in the morning that the consistency is quite a bit thinned down. At this point you will store this immune boosting remedy in the fridge for a few weeks. Take a tablespoon or shot daily or use it in your cooking. It's awesome to add to your stir-fry, salad dressings or marinades. Stay well my friends! Thank you!Welcome to the season of the Metal Element. During the fall we need to make sure we are working to keep our Lung and Large Intestine meridians happy and to keep the Qi flowing freely. First, I will share the associations that are part of the Metal Element.
Associations: * The nose

How can we help ourselves and others through this season?
Book your Acupressure session today to get your Qi flowing! Last weekend we had a great time at the Gracious Farms Botanicals & Herbs Fest in Goshen, Ohio. I was blessed to have had my son Austin home on leave from the Navy. He helped work my booth and get folks signed up for mini sessions. I met so many awesome people and loved seeing old friends as well. We put a basket of wellness items together to raffle off to support The Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Greater Cincinnati. Thank you to Earthganics for adding to our basket, and thanks to those that donated. We ended up making a cash donation of $200 to this organization. Ovarian cancer has affected my life by taking my mother and Aunt. Awareness and education are key to finding ovarian cancer in the early stages. I encourage all women to really listen to your bodies and not dismiss any symptom.
The information below is from the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Greater Cincinnati website. Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Greater Cincinnati (cincyovariancancer.org) "Symptoms of Ovarian CancerFor years, women have known that ovarian cancer was not the silent killer it was said to be. Over the past decade, science has confirmed what women have long known ovarian cancer has symptoms. The symptoms are:
See your doctor, preferably a gynecologist, if you have these symptoms more than 12 times during the course of one month and the symptoms are new or unusual for you.As medical research continues to investigate this important issue, numerous studies have been published indicating that symptoms may not occur until late stage or that they may not improve health outcomes. The Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance believes that symptoms are still relevant, but they are not a definitive diagnostic tool. Since there is no diagnostic tool for ovarian cancer, symptom awareness remains of key importance. Being cognizant of symptoms can help women get diagnosed sooner. Other Symptoms Associated with Ovarian CancerSeveral other symptoms have been commonly reported by women with ovarian cancer. These symptoms include fatigue, indigestion, back pain, pain with intercourse, constipation and menstrual irregularities. However, these other symptoms are not as useful in identifying ovarian cancer because they are also found in equal frequency in women in the general population who do not have ovarian cancer."
